New managers Russell Martin and Slavisa Jokanovic each got their first point of the season at their respective clubs as Swansea City and Sheffield United played out a goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night.
Both sides had been beaten on the opening day of the new season last weekend.
With little between the two sides, Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick had the best chances of the game for the visitors, whilst Jamal Lowe came the closest for the Swans.
The home side dominated possession in the first half but only created one chance of note when Joel Latibeaudiere saw an effort blocked by a sliding Jack Robinson.
Later, David McGoldrick drew a fine save from Steven Benda, whilst an Oliver Norwood free kick gave an unmarked Billy Sharp a golden opportunity, only for the experienced striker to head straight at the Swansea number one.
Swansea would finish the game with 63% possession but it was the visitors who looked more like scoring after the break, with Rhian Brewster sending a half-volley over the bar.
The Blades’ Aaron Ramsdale wasn’t called into action until just after the hour, denying Jamal Lowe’s low drive.
Sheffield United have a tough trip to West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night as they go in search of their first three points of their first season back in the EFL Championship. Swansea City are in action 24 hours earlier when Stoke City are in town.
