Coventry City scored twice in the final 10 minutes to come from behind and beat Nottingham Forest in their opening match of the 2021-22 EFL Championship season.
Captain Kyle McFadzean scrambled home an injury-time winner in their first game in the city since April 2019.
Nottingham Forest had taken the lead 10 minutes before half-time through Lyle Taylor. The striker slid home from close range on a counter-attack.
The three points looked set to go back to the East Midlands until Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres lashed in an 81st-minute equaliser to spark the late comeback from the Sky Blues.
Six minutes into added time, Forest repelled two goalbound efforts before big defender McFadzean fired through the crowd, with the ball squirming over the line.
Coventry were playing in front of their home fans for the first time in 833 days after ground-sharing with Birmingham City at St Andrews for the past two seasons. 20,843 fans were backing their side.
Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest will attempt to put things right when they play their first home game of the season against Bournemouth next Saturday, whilst Mark Robins’ Coventry are off to Barnsley.
