Match Report: Leeds 0-0 Middlesbrough

The Championship’s top two side played out a dull affair in a 0-0 draw between Leeds United and Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Friday night.

The result ensures both teams will remain in the top two come the end of the weekend after each side have picked up 14 points from their first six games of the 2018-19 Championship season.

Both sides cancelled each other out in a contest of limited opportunities.

Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell made one notable save from Jonny Howson’s curling effort in the first half.

Britt Assombalonga headed over from a corner for the visitors too.

The closest Marcelo Bielsa’s side came to scoring was when Luke Ayling’s header was cleared off the line by Adam Clayton.

Tony Pulis masterminded an excellent defensive performance from his side as Leeds had scored at least two goals in each of their first five games to start the new season.
