Aston Villa have completed the signing of winger Yannick Bolasie on a season-loan loan from Premier League side Everton, the West Midlands club have confirmed today.
The DR Congo international joined the Toffees in a reported £25 million deal from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016. However, his first season at Goodison Park was cut short with a long-term right anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Bolasie returned from injury to make 16 Premier League appearances (11 starts), scoring just one goal last season.
New Everton manager Marco Silva appears not to have any plans for the 29-year-old this season by sending him out on loan to the Championship.
Yannick Bolasie is the fourth player to join the Villans on loan this season following the arrivals of Andre Moreira (Atletico Madrid), Axel Tuanzebe (Manchester United) and Anwar El Ghazi (Lille) already this summer.
Steve Bruce’s latest acquisition is capable of playing down both wings and through the middle. Bolasie joins the like of Albert Adomah and El Ghazi as pacey, tricky options down the wings.
