Nottingham Forest 1-1 West Brom

West Bromwich Albion snatched their first point of the Championship season with a late equaliser at the City Ground on Tuesday night.

Hosts Nottingham Forest looked set for their first win of the season after drawing 1-1 at Bristol City on Saturday, but their dominant display saw them only come away with another draw.

The Reds spent a lot of money over the summer and Aitor Karanka’s side deservedly led through Adlene Guedioura’s deflected effort from 25 yards just before the hour.

Nottingham Forest saw 59% of the possession and their 20 efforts on goal were twice as many as the visitors.

However, West Brom substitute Dwight Gayle did hit the woodwork twice on his debut having only joined on loan from Newcastle United on Monday.

Darren Moore’s side had been beaten at home by Bolton Wanderers on Saturday but snatched a late point in the East Midlands with Matt Phillips’ crisp half-volley with what was the Baggies’ first shot on target.
