Bolton announce 2 more signings

Championship club Bolton Wanderers have announced the signings of Jack Hobbs and Josh Magennis.

The Greater Manchester club have been very busy this summer with the latest duo becoming their 10th and 11th acquisitions during the transfer window.  12 players have also left since the end of last season and goalkeeper Ben Amos has been loaned out to fellow Championship side Millwall.

Hobbs joins on a free transfer having been released by Nottingham Forest earlier this summer.  The 6’3″ centre-back came through the youth ranks before being snapped up by Liverpool as a teenager.  He brings a wealth of experience at this level having previously played with Scunthorpe United, Leicester City and Hull City in the Championship prior to joining Forest.

Striker Josh Magennis has joined from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.  The striker spent two seasons at the Valley, scoring exactly 10 goals in each of his campaigns in League One.

The Northern Ireland international has been tied down to a two-year contract at the Macron Stadium, whilst Hobbs has put pen to paper over a one-year deal.

Bolton Wanderers had already signed Clayton Donaldson (Sheffield United), Stephen Duke-McKenna (Everton), Chiori Johnson (Arsenal), Jason Lowe (Birmingham City), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Joe Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur), Paweł Olkowski (FC Koeln) and Marc Wilson (Sunderland), all on free transfers this summer.

The Trotters travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion in their 2018-19 Championship opener on Saturday 4 August.
